Light-coloured long cocktails

For DD's 19th she's having a party at home and we're hiring a cocktail barman. He'll make two different drinks and there will be lager as well.

He's asked what drinks we want him to make- DD doesn't know as she's a lager drinker herself. What are your favourite long cocktails? I'd prefer light colours to save my carpets! Not G&T as apparently that's for middle aged people 😭

If he is actually doing this as a legit business, I would expect he can give you recommendations for cocktails he can make with what he routinely has in stock. Surely, that is like his one job she should know how to do?

I would assume that your dd must know what her friends would enjoy though. Otherwise, vodka and lemonade with some fancy garnishes? Mojito?

My 21 year old and her friends are having a Hugo summer, that’s all they seem to be drinking at the moment. I don’t know if it’s fashionable, but it’s delicious and suitably pale.

Thanks- never heard of a Hugo before but that looks lush, might have to try one out! Mojito is also a very good call. Bartender is legit- I think he's asking what DD would like rather than saying he doesn't know any cocktails 😆

DH is a mixologist and has recommended a dark n stormy, which apparently is quite light coloured

Dark and stormy is a dark rum with ginger beer, not that great for carpets but bloody delicious

I think mojito and Hugo are both good calls, but they are quite similar due to the mint. So I wouldn’t have both. How about one of them and then a flavoured martini. Maybe a lychee martinee? Or a Bellini?

Ooh yea lychee martinis are so good. But strong. Maybe a long version.
I made a lychee mojito this weekend, using lychee syrup instead of the sugar. Yum

warblingwater ha ha, I think he usually focuses on super bright coloured or coffee based cocktails, so probably light more in comparison to a lot of other cocktails
