Dino Snores NHM

Can anyone give any tips for Dino Snores at the Natural History Museum in Aug please?

My sleeping bag is MASSIVE and old school so I'm thinking of just taking a blanket? Will the hall be warm enough? Dd and dh both have fancy technical ones so should be fine.

It says there are mats provided. Is it worth taking a roll mat each as well?

Trying not to carry too much as we have all Saturday in London after the NHM as our train is due early evening.

Thanks!

If you want a roll mat you have to take one when we went the provided roll mats were not supplied, remember it is strictly a no food area, you’ll need to hand in all food and collect it again in the morning. It was cold when we did, plus I’m not sure I’d feel comfortable next to someone who had a blanket, rather than being contained within a sleeping bag. Breakfast was just a yoghurt and a muffin, so plan on going elsewhere for breakfast.

You can put your things in a left luggage store rather than carrying them around.

I took my son pre Covid and had a great time.
I would think you would be OK with a blanket and I would take a roll mat.
Get there early so you can bag a good sleeping spot.
You need to eat before you go but I would have a few snacks - breakfast is a bit thin.
Take ear plugs - it isn't just the Dinos who snore and the acoustics in the hall are interesting

Have fun !

Great! Thanks, will take everything on board. I think I'm more excited than dd!

We have already booked the breakfast which are sausage cobs. Will make sure we have an early dinner before we go in.

Can anyone recommend somewhere to eat before we go in? We will be heading accros from King's Cross Station.

@BloddersMum

Your breakfast sounds more substantial than what we had.
Re the snacks - not talking midnight feast proportions in the sleeping area, just a kitkat or similar which we had in the room where you could get drinks
