Working from home. How to force myself to seat up?

Oh gosh is there a magic life hack that would stop me slouching. My posture is horrible. Two kids and breastfeeding didn't help but now I'm totally ruined. 8h per day at my home desk. It is not “ergo” just smth cheap of amazon and as a result the body ache is awful. My back, my neck, even my tailbone.
What does your home office look like? Anything you'd recommend? What about one of those posture chairs where you seat on your knees? Are they any good?

Do you have a proper chair with arm rests, lumbar support etc? If not then definitely get one, and if you can try to expense it through your employer.

I know someone who uses one of those kneeling chairs and she loves it - I can’t imagine I’d get on with one! I think they’re a bit marmite.

A standing desk could also be something to consider, DH has one and it’s great.

Also, try to make time during the day to get up and stretch/move/walk. There are loads of stretching/mobility videos on YouTube for people who sit at desks all day.

Agree with PP it doesn't sound like your desk, it sounds like a chair issue.

Your employer should have carried out a DSE review where you can highlight these issues and request equipment.

I have a standing desk converter which goes onto my existing desk and means I can avoid sitting down all day whilst working. Although I bought this myself from Amazon as it makes such a difference to my day.

If I slump forward I push my keyboard forward too. So I have a thin strip of washi tape on my desk under where my keyboard should be - if I can see the tape, I’m not sitting right.
