Anyone moved to or have property in Portugal?

We are thinking of moving to Portugal, so I'm wondering what the criteria is to get a mortgage, how much you have to earn, how much would give a nice standard of living, whether the countryside is a good place to live or if its too rural etc

This is just an idea at this stage and we are just fact finding atm.

Well obviously the first question is do you have a European passport? If not and your british you can only stay for 90 days in 6 months or you'd need a visa post brexit for longer term stays.

We are currently residents elsewhere in Europe.
