I lived in the UK for 2014 to 2017. My employer to be requires a DBS check from that time as I'll be working in healthcare. How do I go about this? The umbrella companies are for employers only

Is the new job in the UK? Are you currently living overseas?

You probably need to get an ACRO check instead. Do they specifically say DBS or a police / criminal records check?

I think you may be incorrect about the umbrella companies being only for employers. I was talking to one last week about getting an enhanced DBS as an individual, as my previous one didn't qualify for the update service.

it will be mandatory to provide security clearance for each jurisdiction in which you have resided stating that you have no convictions recorded against you while residing there. All appointments will require satisfactory security clearances. Please note if you require overseas security clearance and are unable to produce it at the time of job offer then the job offer may be withdrawn.

Your security clearance must be dated AFTER you left that country and cover the entire period of your residence. Seeking security clearances from other countries (e.g. UK, USA etc) are the responsibility of the candidate. It is a process which can take an amount of time.

This is what it says

I live in Italy but work in the UK every year in July and August.
I have to get the Italian equivalent of an enhanced (we work in a residential school with under 18s) as do our other employees who come from abroad.

Can you get an ICPC? That’s the English documentation I needed when working with young people in Spain.

Sorry I’ve just actually had a moment and realised that’s completely useless if your job does not involve working with young people!
