What is this butterfly or moth called?

Ds3 and I spotted a beautiful butterfly or moth whilst out walking the dog. The wings were entirely white (and a beautiful bright white, not a creamy white) whilst the body was the same white with black stripes. I think it was a moth as the wings seemed flat to its’ back rather than vertical (is that how you tell the difference? )

I’ve googled and googled but can’t find anything like it!

Has anyone got any ideas?

Glad to have helped. I've never seen one but it is quite distinctive.
