How to stop emblem on top itching

Hello, I wonder if someone has a good idea here. My son has just tried on his new school uniform for secondary school. His PE tops have an embroidered emblem that he says is really itchy. Unfortunately there aren’t any alternatives as this is a compulsory item. I was wondering if there’s a way to make it less itchy. Perhaps a recommendation for something to sew onto the other side?
Thanks x

Go to a Hobbycraft shop or similar, & buy a square if soft felt. The assistants will help you.

Neatly sew the felt over the back of the itchy badge/emblem.

Might be worth trying iron on patches like these? Kleiber Extra Soft Cotton Iron On Repair Patch-40cm x 12cm-White, 40 x 12 cm https://amzn.eu/d/b6QFp6x?
My 8 year old son wears a vest under his school polo shirt to protect him from the itching but not sure if that's something a secondary age boy would do! I don't know why they insist on putting scratchy logos on everything!

DS's PE top was similar and got better when it had been washed a few times.
