I need some new champagne glasses and am interested in recommendations please! I've tried stemless but I don't like them as I feel like it warms the drink up too much from being held.

We have these ones and find them the perfect shape (less bubbles up the nose and stays colder for longer compared to saucer shapes.) On sale at the moment too!

I'm coveting these.

Don't get me wrong I do live a coupe glass for champagne- so pretty, but the bubbles dissipate far too quickly in that shape glass.

We have dartington ones for champagne

SpanadorFanador · 16/07/2023 17:45

Here are our wedding gift champagne saucers. Actually, I think ours’ are an older design but pretty similar. Twelve came as a gift from our best man’s (very wealthy!) parents.

Not in anyway recommended for everyday use but they make me so happy when I see them twinkling in candlelight.

They come out at Christmas and to celebrate very special events and I’m hoping they’ll last (at least!) a lifetime.

I love those Chef and Sommelier ones. The perfect shape.

I hate coupes and stemless.

I give Ritzenhoff glasses as my go to Wedding gift - lots of lovely designs and lovely to drink from

Full ones

Coupes seem sexist to me. Nice to drink
out of though.

DoloresOnTheDottedLine · 16/07/2023 18:48

We have the same ones as @ThreeRingCircus and love them - I find them much more elegant than the coupe shape.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 16/07/2023 18:55

If it's for prosecco, as opposed to champagne, as I think someone said uptrend, they should be tulip shaped rather than flutes (and definitely not coupes although they are cute). This was from an Italian sommelier.

This sort of thing...

Genuine question - what makes you think they are sexist?

They’re based on the shape of a breast?

gogomoto · 16/07/2023 19:07

Ours are George (Asda) the feel good on the mouth which is the main thing

Breasts are such a lovely shape. What’s sexist about wanting to drink out of something shaped like one?

CoachBeardsJane · 16/07/2023 19:30

We have these ones. Although ours make me laugh because they say 'live long and prosper' Emma Bridgewater hand blown coupes

Well I imagine it was the male gaze that made them so, but fair enough.

macshoto · 16/07/2023 19:53

Zalto tulip shape. Very delicate but dishwasher safe.

martinisforeveryone · 16/07/2023 19:59

I really dislike champagne or sparkling wine in a coupe shaped glass. Personal preference obviously, but I go for something tall and elegant with a long, thin stem, something like the LSA Savoy shape.

Freedomfromguilt · 16/07/2023 20:08

Dartington Rachel, they don't hit my nose as I drink. I have a big nose.
