What’s Happening In Your House?

Morning all - just chilling before I get dressed & pop to Asda for pizzas ( working later so don’t want to cook when I get home). Enjoying my view of our bunnies through the French doors in the kitchen. DH will clean them out today as he does every Sunday. DD14 has gone out for a walk. DH still in bed on his phone. I’m looking around, realising how much needs doing in the house. DH gets a pension from The Navy next month & we’re planning to do up the bathroom. Can’t wait as at the moment it depresses the hell out of me! I had a cleaner in a few weeks ago which made a big difference but can’t really afford it regularly, although she only charges £15 an hour.
Might watch the Wham thing on Netflix tonight.

DH is making bread in the kitchen and I can hear him chatting to 14yo DD and making her some toast. 12yo is sitting in the swing chair with her feet up on the back of an armchair so all I can see are the soles of her feet. She's playing Toca Boca on the ipad.

I'm doing a little bit of work and hoping DH will make more coffee when he finishes the bread.

We're going to have a quiet morning doing some work and then go out in the late afternoon I think.

We've been for a walk with the dog and picked some raspberries from the park, now we're having breakfast (cereal and raspberries) and watching cbeebies.

I've just got out of the shower after going for a run, DH is downstairs with DD... not sure what they're doing, but there's a lot of noise 😆

I'll go down shortly and put a wash on, then time to chill/play with DD, lunch, nap (for DD), then off out to a free local band concert this afternoon if the weather holds.

I've went out early to see if the second chick in a clutch of 3 had hatched, it had and is more yellow than yesterday's chick which was brown (mixed parental heritage chickens). Then I went and woke my DD who had a late night last night as we have visitors, told her we had another chick so she hopped up to get dressed, DS joined us, we watched the swallows huge aerial display for a bit then went to see the new chick. Momma hen is tired but doing a great job. No sign of cracks in third egg yet. Now I'm making toasties and have overalls on ready for a DIY day.

I'm home alone. And lazing in bed watching TV and mooching on MN.

Ddog is downstairs barking at the wind.

Boys are with their father

I need to go get my car at some point from the local pub (5 min walk!) but it was very windy and rainy when I went last night!

I need to hoover through the house and I've got one washing load in and have another one to do

DP is home tomorrow after two months at sea, so I also need to shave my legs 😁

I was due a lie in this morning but was woken at 7 by neighbours Angry so we all got up and watched some David Attenborough with a cup of tea. Now OH is in the kitchen cooking goulash, DS is on the living room floor throwing a strip because his Scalextric track won't work and I'm mumsnetting with a second cup of tea! Nothing to do today except walk the dog if it doesn't rain! Oh, and some ironing

Beezknees · 16/07/2023 09:37

Not much. DS15 is still asleep, likely won't see him for hours. I'm on my second coffee watching netflix. I'm going to do the food shop soon and clean the bathroom. Might crack a bottle of prosecco later.

I’m lounging on the sofa like Lady Muck while DH has nipped out to the cafe to get a takeaway breakfast. We’ve got a toddler with us for the next few days so his toys are all out ready for him and we’ll spend the rest of the day pandering to the whims of a cute little dictator.

justinhawkinsnavalfluff · 16/07/2023 09:41

I'm cooking croissants whilst recovering from a hangover. Just waiting for DH and DD to emerge from their respective cocoons!

All your days aound lovely but i'm very impressed at 14 year olds out for walks, etc so early! I was an early riser as a teen though. Ds, 17 is getting up soon as he's off to the gym. Dh works nights so is asleep atm but he's off tonight and tomorrow night. I'll wake him at 11 and we'll go and do some shoppping. This afternoon ds has a guitar lesson and usually spends a couple of hours at the shop. Dh will go with him. This afternoon i might read, tidy or go see mum who only lives in the next road. Will do a roast for tea as it's so wintry here. Tv tonight and prepping for work. Excited as we break up on Tuesday for 6 weeks. We're also going away a week on Tuesday so I need to start thinking about that.

I’m on the sofa with MIL. She’s using my adult colouring book and pencils 😁 I’m mooching on MN and doing a few lines of my crochet. DH has just finished showering.

MIL is making lunch for us, not sure what it is but she’s magic in the kitchen so I’ll eat whatever she makes.

We’ll go for a short walk later after the sun sets as it’s very hot here (France).
