Effective noise cancelling headphones for sleep

We are going on holiday for a week this summer - first time in quite a few years.
My husband snores really really loudly. He’s been sleeping the in spare room for ages as it is so loud I was driven to despair through lack of sleep.

I need some way of blocking out the noise when we are on holiday in one hotel room. I tried ear plugs at home and they were uncomfortable even made my ears hurt after a few nights. I sleep on my side - any recommendations for noise cancelling headphones that are completely comfortable to sleep in?

I have a white noise machine. I've used it for years to drown out my husband. Takes a few nights to get used yo but it does work. Couldn't be without it now

What type of earplugs did you use, OP? I've had to use them for decades and also found them very uncomfortable (I'm a side sleeper too). I couldn't manage headphones at all when I'm sleeping, but did recently find this brand of earplugs surprisingly comfortable and effective, much better than foam ones or the putty types.

Those foam ones look like the sort I used to use (and still have random packets of in my bedside drawer, lol).

100% recommend QuietOn. It’s been a lifesaver on many occasions and I absolutely need silence! I have always found foam earbuds uncomfortable but not QuietOn (it comes with several ear bud sizes) and so discrete, comfy enough to sleep in.

I use loop ear plugs. They come with different sized ear buds so you can get a good fit and they fit snuggly inside your ear so you can't feel them when side sleeping. They have definitely blocked out my noisy snorer.

Bose sleep buds changed my life but are discontinued. I believe anker sound core are similar

I have to have the radio on - drowns him out and gives me white noise - I choose radio 5 - talkie radio and generally drivel so not so interesting I want to listen to it but loud enough it drowns him out

I don't know about their sleep earbuds, but Anker Soundcore sport earbuds are amazing and eliminate most London out-and-about noise, including the South Circular.

There are some earplugs I would recommend which are far better than those foam things, if you, OP, would like another option. I've slept through all sorts using these, and they're quite comfortable.

I have just invested in the Sound Core sleep buds and can confirm they are excellent! They drown out the strangled warthog and are comfortable for a side sleeper

I'm thinking about trying the sound core ones, though the reviews say the battery life isn't the best.

I find that JBL headphones fit well in my ears for side sleeping (I have small ears). I have a pair of corded Bluetooth ones which are great but the the battery life is pathetic, even in standby. They wake me up with the alert that they are running out of power . So for sleep I use the cheapest pair of corded headphones. Not noise cancelling but music/audiobooks cancel out the snoring pretty effectively. They may do pricier ones with noise cancelling...

I use bose noise cancelling headphones. It took a while to get used to sleeping with big chunky headphones but it doesn't bother me at all anymore and I don't hear a thing. (Not entirely sure it's good in the long run but that's another matter)

UPDATE I bought the soundcore by Anker, Sleep A10 Bluetooth Sleep Earbuds, Noise Blocking Earbuds for Sleep, Comfortable Fit, Bluetooth 5.2, App, For Unlimited Sleep Sounds, Sleep Monitor, Personal Alarm, Side Sleeper amzn.eu/d/0WrXpuh Anker Soundcore Sleep in the end and they fit nicely (I went for the smallest size tips in the box) and they were effective at blocking out noise and replacing it with nice water noise (or whichever sound you select).

BUT I am returning them as they made my ears hurt (just as much as the foam ones) when laying on my side with ear on the pillow. I think anything being pushed into my ear by the pressure from the pillow is going to hurt unfortunately so I’m just swapping one annoying thing (husband snoring) for another (sore ears).
