At a big hotel in Greece and they have had some kind of stomach bug outbreak! Loads of people got it, staff in PPE etc.

I've got it today and we are due to fly home in a few hours! Any tips??

If you have any imodium that might help, but really you should think about whether you can safely do the flight and journey to the airport, especially if you need the toilet urgently. These bugs are usually bad for 24/48 hours.

I dont think you can fly if you are infectious, can you?

contact your insurance company

Try speaking to the hotel as they may have a local doctor who can give you something to get you home.

And/or talk to your insurance company to see what they advise and whether they can cover an extra few days.

Hope you feel better soon.

PLEASE don't travel and risk giving your very infectious bug to everyone on your airport transfer, airport and plane...

I hope you feel better soon, but please think of others.

You shouldn’t fly Wight his. It’s obviously infectious and what if you have an accident? Toilets won’t be readily available all the time.

This. If I had a stomach bug I would do everything I could to avoid flying, not only for how awful it would be for me, but also for everyone else on the flight.

How're you getting on op?

startafresh123 · 17/07/2023 09:28

I made it home without doing anything gross but was pretty unpleasant.

I did try and say I wasn't up to travelling home but DH was adamant we came home. There were loads of other people on the same flight who were either unwell or had been unwell shortly before... there wasn't another flight home until Thursday.

That was kind of you to spread it to an entire plane full of people

Piscesmumma1978 · 17/07/2023 10:12

Yeah, don't. How selfish.

YouveGotAFastCar · 17/07/2023 10:16

DH was a knob and you should have put your foot down.

It absolutely wasn’t fair to spread it to a whole plane of people. There was a flight on Thursday; not next year.

What a selfish pair of twats you are, @startafresh123 - I bet people will be delighted to have caught your bug and to start their holiday with it. Jesus H Christ. I hope karma gets you and your h.
