Earrings keep falling out - anyone else?

I love wearing earrings everyday but recently just one of them keep falling out of my ears when I'm out and about even when I have got strong backs in. It's putting me wearing my faves in case I lose them!

It's not just one pair of earrings but quite a few of mine :( I've tried replacing the backs and putting in firm ones in case they've become loose over time but it doesn't make a difference. For some reason it's always just one earring. It's not my ears as I've tried switching the earring around lol to see if it fits better in one ear than the other. I also don't think it's the because of the weight of the earrings either as it only seems to affect one earring, never both.

Anyway my mind is boggled - does this happen to happen to anyone else and how do you fix it??

Do you mean the back comes off- of the earring is coming through you ear and falling out with the back still on?

I'd change to small hoops.

@CC4712 So I'll put both earrings in at home with backs on and then when I go out and about and am walking, I'll suddenly notice that one of them has fully fallen out of my ear - usually I hear it fall to the ground or sometimes it will be tucked into my scarf.

I've just tried using a few different backs on the earring that fell out of my ear today and they all keep sliding off the sharp pointy needle bit of the earring that goes through your ear - it's so weird! So I'm thinking that the problem is with the needle bit of the earring but why does it only seem to be happening to one earring and not both??

So just the back is falling off? The entire thing isn't coming through your ear?

Maybe buy screw on backs in future? I have no idea why its only suddenly happening?

@KPops22 Thanks for sharing - I hadn't heard of backs that lock before! They've got some really good reviews too so looks like they're reliable

I use them on mine. You have to squeeze them to get off.

@CC4712 the weird thing is that when I do notice that the earring has fallen out, the back will usually (but not always) still be stuck to the underside of my ear - almost like it's suctioned on...

I'm just confused as to why it's only one ever one earring that seems to be affected and not both

I know what you mean by the back still being stuck to the back of your ear- I have had that too-but generally only if I've bumped/pulled the earring which then made it come out. Hopefully the locking thing someone else posted will help.

Maybe try some internally threaded or thread less flat backed earrings. I've never had one of those fall out.
