I commute in and out of London for work and have done for ten years or more.
Used to be every week day, now it's once a week...
I'm very used to the 'normal' experience...not that anyone is rude, but everyone keeps themselves to themselves.
In the last 3 weeks (so three trips in and out) I've had quite a few women being really lovely...and it's obviously nice but seems very unusual 
- First one was a woman about my age on the train home. I had my head down doing work on my laptop and she started chatting away. We chatted all the way to her stop about 30 mins later about her work, family, etc and she kept saying how nice I was...
- Later on the same train, after she'd got off I got stuck back in to work again. I'd eaten a pasta salad and the empty carton was next to me on the seat waiting for me to drop it in the bin on the way off. A woman touched me on the arm to get my attention and asked if I'd like her to pop it in the bin for me while she passed it (it was not sarcastic, she was very friendly)
- Last week I had two different women tell me how much they loved my dress
- Ten mins ago a woman just hurried after me as I walked towards a train at a London station to ask me if I had blisters on my heel (I've a slight limp from a dislocated knee). She'd fished out a plaster from her bag ready to patch up my (imaginary) blisters!
This is more people going out of there way to be nice to me in three weeks than the previous nine years I think...
For clarity I'm a 40 year old married woman myself.
I mean...it's genuinely lovely but I'm a bit perplexed!
Is this anything anyone else is noticing?
