Can I get ventolin from 111?

Posting for a quick answer. I have asthma, I get ventolin on prescription anyway but I'm having an exacerbation at the moment and mine has run out. Can I call 111 or walk into a pharmacy and pick some up?

I'd ring the local pharmacy that's open, they may let you borrow/buy a ventolin. I'd take your current one with box if you have it with you.

Go to the pharmacy. They should be able to provide you with one. If possible, take evidence that you use it. Repeat prescription form, packaging, etc

I think you can just buy it from Asda pharmacies, or you used to be able to.

Only article I can find is from 2012 so not sure if it's a trial that was stopped. I'd probably ring before going in case.

We once phoned 111 for my child and they sent a prescription to the local asda as it was so late.

We frequently call 11 for emergency scripts when clients come in with meds in various states (e.g. No boxes) and it's not a problem

Ring the pharmacy first it may save you from having to wait for 111. They will more than likely provide you with one. It's likely there will be a charge.

You can just order it from Superdrug online for next day delivery.

Call 111 in any case but what other treatments are you on - are you able toself manage and up dosage of eg steroid inhaler?
