Non-windy Tenerife resorts

We're looking to go to the Canary Islands next February for sun and surfing. We've been to Lanzarote and stayed in Famara which was nice but VERY windy and a bit quiet and limited in terms of restaurants.

I've read that Tenerife is generally a bit less windy but my impression is that there are more rowdy/tacky resorts. We like nice places for dinner but don't need loads of bars etc, will probably rent an apartment rather than a hotel and will have a car so can travel.

Can anyone recommend anywhere?

Avoid areas around el Medano and that coast as that's windy and a favourite spot for kite surfers!

If you go around past las americas etc and up that coast (Costa Adeje, playa Paraiso, Callao Salvaje and Playa Varadero, Playa Arena, los Gigantes) they are generally less windy.

However the canaries can be windy in general sometimes and there isn't always a pattern to it so although generally not a windy coast when it's windy the wind can be chilly if you go April or October time.

I've seen on here that Puerto Mogan in Gran Canaria is good for weather and naice rather than tacky/rowdy.

On Tenerife we went to Costa Silencio so very opposite of tacky/rowdy.

I don't think there was a huge amount there, so we walked to Las Galletas a few times, which was quite traditionally Spanish, but oddly had a derelict hotel called TenBel, which was an early hotel aimed at Belgian tourists. I can't remember what happened to it and it was pre covid when we went, so can't remember about the wind, but we were scuba diving, so it can't have been that bad because wind = waves and waves = challenging diving and it wasn't that.

If you decide to try Lanzarote again go to the other coast and try puerto Calero (more upmarket), Puerto de Carmen or Playa Blanca
