What to do in Cardiff on a budget?

Just that really. We’ve got 3 nights in Cardiff in August. Any ideas for budget friendly activities for a family including DC aged 10 & 13. Extra points if we can use our Max Card or get disability/carers discount on entry fees. Thanks!

The walk from Penarth to Cardiff Bay if it is not windy.

Go to the museum

St Fagan's is a free outdoor museum, just pay for parking, and much loved. If you don't mind driving a little further, Ponty Lido is cheap and unique. Train or drive to Barry Island for the beach. Enjoy the castle grounds and Bute Park.

National museum is free. Has an art gallery upstairs too.

Easy train from Queen St to Cardiff Bay if you don't have a car!

You can tour the parliament for free I think. It is in a gorgeous spot by the bay.
