Against all the terrible stories we hear of, I honestly was surprised and delighted by my recent GP service. Just a tale of hope and that things are not necessarily always bad in healthcare.
Been tackling an eczema outbreak on my scalp. Not usual for me, and after trying shampoos and emollients, and with my scalp now bleeding, I decided I needed some steroid lotion, which needs a prescription. Not an emergency, but needed, I tried to get it OTC, but couldn't.
Phoned mid afternoon yesterday. Got triaged, and told doctor would call me in the next couple of hours. Got call, asked to come in at 5.30pm due to cancellation. Went in, myself and three others were there. Seen, prescription written, popped to the on-site dispensary, home with treatment by 6pm.
Now that's a service. Very happy customer.
