Taylor Swift tickets

My daughter is so happy as she pre registered and she has been sent a code for Taylor Swift tickets. However they go on sale at 3pm on Wednesday - hubby and I are at work and she should be at school but she wants to stay home so she can get tickets. Does this code guarantee her tickets? She will not be home till 9pm on Wednesday as she goes straight to work from school both hubby and I will not be able to get tickets due to work commitments till at least 7pm. I presume she has to be online at 3pm to even get a look in. I have no idea how it all works. Would also like to know ticket prices? It is her money and she is paying but I have heard that tickets could be £200plus!!!

No guarantee. Someone needs to be online at 3pm. If you Google ticket prices are covered in various news articles.

AgathaSpencerGregson · 14/07/2023 19:43

I have the same email. I am working on the assumption I must try and get tickets the minute the sale goes live or I will have no chance.

wendall456 · 14/07/2023 19:45

So she is 17 and doing A levels and last week of term - hubby and I can't miss work so I best let her stay home then and have a go!!!! I think she seems to think she is guaranteed tickets - thanks for clarifying this is not the case.

How old is she, I'm presuming she is at college, 6th form rather than school as you mention work, or if in year 11 at school she would have finished her exams, if so she could probably miss a bit, could she to come home and get the tickets before work.

My email says very clearly that tickets are not guaranteed.
that has not prevented hysterical levels of excitement in this house this evening.

A code doesn't guarantee tickets, she needs to be live at 3pm. They'll sell out super quickly.

When I bought mine earlier this week the nosebleeds were about £75, General standing admission was £110 then lower bowl was £175... Then the VIP packages are £200-£600 ish. That was for Wembley

Yikes.

Having logged on to the presale 5 times this week to buy tickets I can tell you:

  • she'll need to enter the waiting room at some point between 2.30 and 3
  • when the queue opens at 3, she'll be randomly allocated a place, regardless what time she entered waiting room
  • during this weeks presale, I got places in queue ranging from positions 916 to 19543 and everywhere in between. I got tickets when I was 916. When I was at 4600 there were plenty of tickets available but it wasn't the date I wanted. All places above 9000 were sold out by the time I got through the queue.
  • all tickets gone after around 40 mins

She's incredibly lucky to get a code, but she, or someone on her behalf will have to be focussed, and lucky, to get the actual tickets!

I'd let her have the day off & try.

My tips

  • do not run multiple browsers - we ignored this & got kicked from the first sale we tried
  • do not ask it to select different seats more than 3 times - we managed to get locked out for asking it for different tickets when we were looking for cheaper than it offered (my budget was £150 each at most, it was offering around £200 per ticket)

-do pre-load bank info into ticketmaster/axs & have your code ready copied to paste when it asks

-whoever is paying may need their banking app also handy to approve the transaction - we did

-definitely load it up to count down to entering the lobby asap, then join waiting room. We got in really fast on our ill-fated first and second attempts. That said, we were slow on our last go (thankfully made no odds which night we attend), and still managed to secure seated tickets we're really happy with.

That's super long-winded, but hopefully helpful!

Really sorry about the formatting there - it was in a straight, orderly, list when I typed it 🙄

This is incredibly helpful and thankyou but my god what a palaver!
do you think there’s any chance of getting out for less than 500 notes for the two of us or am I being unrealistic there?

Allthecatseverywhereallatonce · 15/07/2023 08:47

So how do you know which tickets to select? If you have an absolute limit or don't want to be in the nosebleeds?
Is it an idea to look at the venue and decide which seats you want? Why is it so stressful?

lucysmam · 15/07/2023 08:56

@AgathaSpencerGregson I paid £109 + fees for ours & the total was £337 ish for 3 of us (maybe slightly more). They're decent seats, fairly high up, but should have a good view.

@Allthecatseverywhereallatonce you couldn't select when we did it, just filter to best seat & budget based on whether you wanted GA standing or seated location. You could filter further by stand you wanted to be in iirc but nothing else. One try we couldn't do that because the screen wouldn't scroll down far enough on dd's laptop (you can't go back to previous ones it's offered you either)

pambeeslyhalpert2 · 15/07/2023 08:57

Can she have a half day? I'd let her stay off it's the last week

Allthecatseverywhereallatonce · 15/07/2023 08:57

Thanks @lucysmam I had a quick look at Wembley and think I will do what you suggested. Fingers crossed 🤞.

That sounds hopeful! Thank you

YerAWizardHarry · 15/07/2023 09:22

shes extremely lucky to even have a code to try! Only around 4% of people got given a presale code going by the rumours online.. thankfully I got in the album presale as myself and my two friends all got waitlisted.

General admission (standing) is £110 each

holamamma · 19/07/2023 11:24

Could someone please help me out, I'm waiting on a code for Dublin, they go on sale tomorrow! Is it the same code they send via email and text or two different ones? It's all so confusing
