How’s your Friday night going? I’ve had a bit of a stressful day & have a painful UTI - was hoping to hear back from the surgery with a prescription for antibiotics but unfortunately didn’t. DD14 is drama drama drama! We met with one of her friends & her folks for a pub lunch but it was so unrelaxing! Plus I ended up really hungry as I ordered a starter which when I’d had it before was like a main course but this time it was really small. Looking forward to bangers, double cream mash & broccoli for tea. I popped to the shop for “weekend chocolate” & couldn’t decide so bought a double decker duo & a big milky bar! Watching Corrie later & maybe another episode of the follow up to The Full Monty. I quite like it but DH isn’t sure. Not working until Sunday. I might go to a fete tomorrow at a local community hall. It’s absolutely fantastic what they do there so it would be good to support them. Hopefully the weather will be better than today. It’s been absolutely chucking it down here, with strong winds, and depressingly grey.

I've been trying to sort out the house since 3 (it's a tip) but am now sitting on the sofa watching YouTube. DH is out meeting a friend. DS is upstairs on his PC. DD is at work. I want to have dinner but DH is bringing me back a roll so I can make a chicken burger so I have to wait.

We got back from a lovely holiday 5 days ago and I'm still not adjusted back to real life!

DDs out of the bath and running around in their last burst of energy before bedtime in an hour or so. H watching TV in the sitting room, me with DDog in the bedroom hiding and doom-scrolling.

Me - god awful Period pains. Watching Netflix on the sofa whilst waiting for the dishwasher and washing machine and waiting to take DS16's girlfriend home.

We've had wine and homemade pizza, and we are now introducing ds14 to Gremlins! Ds1 is at work but has a lift home so no one has to turn out

Had a long day at work. Not enjoying my job right now. Decompressing with a glass or two of red wine, about to have burgers for dinner.

I'm just watching the end of First Night of the Proms on TV as I had to pause it for a bit to make dinner (macaroni cheese) and drinking a (decaf) coffee.

DC are walking two of our three dogs in the pissing rain (third dog gets a longer walk by DD when they're all back from the shorter walk). DD was working until 8.30.

DH is out at the pub and bumped into someone we know so I'm not expecting him home any time soon.

I'll be having an early night tonight as I'm going with my friend to her final wedding dress fitting tomorrow, she gets married at the end of the month.

I also have a UTI (thankfully have antibiotics now), but I have also got the illness my children have had hideous sore throat/cough/headache etc.... haven't felt this ill in a long time. Have mostly been in bed, watching netflix when my headache isn't too bad. OH has had loads of work today, so I've still had to ferry one DC to a friend's birthday party (thankfully staying the night) and the other to and from a sports club.
Glad I don't have to do anything else tonight, the housework can wait until tomorrow and OH is just about to head off to do the food shop.

Had a horrible cold today so been home from uni placement under a poorly blanket.

Now watching TV eating biscuits.

It’s my birthday today. I’ve done absolutely nothing, laid in bed most of the day with the dogs. Had a Chinese takeaway now having beers and chocolate. It’s horrendous weather outside and it’s been a boring birthday but to be honest I needed a guilt free lazy day, haven’t had one in years.

DH is currently away on a very rare weekend trip, youngest adult DD is also away so I booked a secret day off work although everyone knows about my day off now. I was much in need of some quiet space so did not tell anyone until tonight. Have made many crumbles, done housework, harvested cucumbers and courgettes and strawberries and made some pesto with the basil which I grew from seed, had many cups of tea in the garden even though it was raining and had my music louder than normal in the kitchen whilst I cooked. Currently drinking wine by candlelight and watching Predator and feeling refreshed by the peace and quiet.

My birthday was a couple of weeks ago and tbh it wasn't a great one so your day sounds lovely to me.

We're meant to be 5 hours away for a weekend of fun with family but car broke down not far from home and ended up coming home again. DH is still waiting for the breakdown truck but the DC and I got a taxi home and I'm wondering about going to bed or if that would be rude. Gutting as we'd shelled out for a nice room which we won't get money back on - and car may be a write off apparently!

Dd2 is just home from her boyfriends, ds is in bed, dh is downstairs watching a film and I’ve just had a bath and now getting ready for bed. Been a long day and looking forward to catching up with some telly and nodding off before dh comes up and starts snoring beside me!
