Paranormal or supernatural? - a question I could google.

I could google this but the first result didn’t explain it well, so I’m being lazy and asking if someone could explain it to me.

What is the difference between supernatural and paranormal? If I had to guess I’d say supernatural is ghosts and vampires and paranormal is aliens, is that right?

Hi! Interesting question. The words are often used interchangeably, but from my also brief google on the basic definitions, 'paranormal' looks at things like clairvoyance, telekinesis and I guess things like astral projection.

So paranormal also looks at things that affect living people
