Can Amitriptyline affect your periods

I've been taking amitriptyline for about 3 months for tmj I'm now on 20mg. The side affects I get are dry mouth. My periods are usually regular but this month I started my period 12 days ago and it doesn't seem to be ending. I have appointment with the doctor Wednesday for a check up. Anyone else had this issue.

Hello, I was just wondering if your doctor was able to give you any insight?

I've been taking 60mg Amitriptyline (nerve damage) for 3+ years now and only recently have I put 2 and 2 together that I have been having issues with my menstrual cycle for the same length of time.
I can't believe I've never came to that realisation before but I'm starting to think it is the amitriptyline.

I've been on amatraptlin for a few months now (sciatica from slipped discs) and I have noticed my period are lighter but much longer! Constent spotting every day for nearly 2 weeks , only thing I can think is doing this is the amatraptlin but I can't find much on the Internet!

I’ve been taking 75mg a night for the last 7 years and I’ve not noticed any change in my periods.

Has anyone noticed any weight gain whilst taking amitriptyline. I don't seem to eat more then usual but I have put on a few pounds. But struggle to lose it

@Tasha00 I have read it can cause weight gain , which I was worried about , but so far it's had the opposite effect! But I'm not sure if that's due to the other medication I am on!

@XoxoScouser1999 what happened to your slipped disc did Ami help ? My periods are so delayed from this drug
