How to record phone calls? To use on podcast

If I wanted to (with permission) record phone conversations with a friend to then edit for a podcast

How would I go about doing that?

Also thinking sound quality might be poor from phone calls

Also is it very easy to hide your identity? Nothing nefarious, but being giggling opinionated twats probably wouldn't go like ham with cheese for at least one of our day jobs if found online?

I don't really want to buy any special equipment bc as much as several people have recommended us to start one - they know us, they might just be being nice 🤣 so rather see if anyone enjoyed it before I bothered

Why does it need to be a phonecall? Surely if both of you are in on it you can record yourselves pretending to be on the phone with each other. Either in the same place or if that isn't possible separately, and edit the 2 recordings together.

If one of your day jobs would potentially he affected by whatever you're planning it doesn't sound like a great idea. I'd think carefully if you're doing something stupid/infantile/disgusting.

Bc not everything we chat about would be entertaining so we thought record calls and edit the funnier stuff for it

Just wouldn't necessarily gel with the image in a serious day job for one of us - light entertainment.

Tbh I expect we would probably get 5 listeners all of whom we know but on the offchance it got more listening- it's a hobby Vs a profession

You could do it on a recorded zoom call.
