No pay offer for NI teachers .. work to rule continues.

It looks again like teachers are getting their pay raise in England after a few strike days and yet again Northern Ireland has no pay offer for teachers, no government to make an offer and our kids are getting left further and further behind their UK counterparts. This is beyond frustrating and unless you work in education or have a family member who does in NI you have little idea how our children’s education offer is impacted at present under union action.

Already we are behind England - in our curriculum, how we make schools accountable and measure progress (no SATs) and now we have students who are in their second period of work to rule / action short of strike with no pay offer on the horizon. With union action there are no school inspections so no one is monitoring and evaluating our schools - who knows who they are performing.

I wish teachers would just strike more and impact parents so maybe a pay offer will come? Action short of strike only impacts our children and parents don’t
understand enough of it's impact to be as furious as they should be!
