Bcc and previous email thread

Could someone answer this for me. So if you and someone had been emailing and then they Bcc someone in on the last email can the Bcc person see the previous email thread? I can see the previous email thread. I just thought Bcc was just to stop you seeing each others email addresses for mass emails

Yes they can. It’s like normal cc just nobody can see that they are copied (and if you bcc multiple people none of the people in bcc can see the other emails in bcc or that there are any - and if someone replies all it doesn’t go to anyone in bcc)

The person said this in the email: I have Bcc'd your emails in case of GDPR

But I think the bcc person can see my emails. The bcc person is my abusive ex!

Yes it's just the same as if they'd forwarded or cc'd the email, it just doesn't show who's been copied in.

Bcc in terms of gdpr is so that the other person doesn't get to see your email address. But pretty useless if there is an entire thread with your email and details included
