We enjoy spa days as a couple and wondering if anyone had any recommendations for good ones anywhere in the UK, ideally with a few saunas/steam rooms and hot tubs, less bothered for treatments.

The Galgorm in Northern Ireland. Their thermal village is amazing.

Ragdale Hall in the Midlands is one of the best in the country.

Penny Hill Park Bagshot Surrey.

The very best I've been to and been to many around the country.

Another for ragdale if it's more about the steam/heat rooms and pools. For treatments (and still a lovely experience) I'm an Eden Hall fan. Plus Edens slumber room is heaven to me.

For lots of different rooms Ye Olde Bell in Doncaster is a winner. I'm not a fan of treatments either but love a day here in the pool and various rooms. The food is really good too 😋

I will add that Eden has plenty of different steam/heat rooms but it's limited on the jacuzzi, swimming stuff as I remember.

The Woodland Spa in Burnley is wonderful.

stockpilingallthecheese · 13/07/2023 19:43

The aqua sana spa's at any of the Center parcs' are bloody lovely, loads of rooms to keep you occupied. If you feel like splashing out a bit I would highly recommend the overnight spa stay at Woburn, absolute heaven!

Ragdale! Nowhere else compares.

If you like water, Nirvana Spa near Reading. It's a day spa (though a hotel is coming) but it has 6 different pools.

Second Ragdale, Pennyhill Park and The Galgorm - The Galgorm is worth getting to, it’s brilliant

Also would recommend

Seaham Hall, Durham
Finn Lough, Fermanagh
Carden Park, Cheshire

I've just come back from Ragdale, this morning. I wasn't too impressed. It felt a bit like Butlins in the dining room. And the spa has no hot water - lovely steam and sauna, but all the other pools are just warm.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/07/2023 20:15

I've used to go to Eden hall a lot, but it's now £200 for a day with a treatment. And I just can't bring my self to spend that much money.
If you want really cheap and cheerful. But loads of steam rooms and saunas. Clifford's Health club is good. But it is crowded. But for £60 you get five hours in the spa, a 90 minute treatment and afternoon tea.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/07/2023 20:16

It's in Long Eaton

Second the Woodland recommendation, plenty of hot tub space, lovely food and good value. Rudding Park also excellent.

Don't bother with Center Parcs, the Sherwood one at least. It only has two small hot tubs which are always full of groups being loud.

Ragdale & hoar cross hall for over nighters

Holymotherforkingshirtballs · 14/07/2023 08:37

Another vote for the Woodland Spa near Burnley. Absolutely amazing and food in hotel was really good too.
