No good deed goes unpunished- reselling tickets

MILsPlates · 13/07/2023 16:16

Just had to get Twickets to reverse a sale as the buyer was unhappy that I couldn't supply the tickets now (for a concert in June 2024 for which tickets have not been released yet- no, not Taylor Swift 😂). She was really unhappy about it, which I thought was a bit off as I'd put all the information onto the site accurately, was using the approved resale site and selling at cost price for a sold out gig.

Is there anywhere I can resell tickets without all this faff?

Why didn’t you send her the confirmation email when you booked

and the terms and conditions saying ticket issued closer to time

The2023 · 13/07/2023 16:18

Ticketswap is another good selling site

Kimchikitchen · 13/07/2023 16:18

June 2024

so you’ve very very recently booked?

With the intention of off loading with a hefty profit I imagine

Um, I sold them at cost price as I made clear in the OP.

We resell on Viagogo, but I assume the person your are selling to doesn't go to many gigs. Almost no one issues tickets until a week or so before the event (at least that's the case with the big London venues). I suspect the problem was her ignorance, not the site you used.

Twickets don't let you sell at more than cost price, I buy and sell on there a lot.
Op has done nothing wrong.

cheezncrackers · 13/07/2023 16:22

I sold via Viagogo - it was all very straightforward and I had no contact with the purchaser.

Kimchikitchen · 13/07/2023 16:22

So

send her the confirmation email explicitly confirming purchase

and terms and conditions re ticket issue

have you provided her with nothing but your word?

LadyWithLapdog · 13/07/2023 16:23

I hate how ticket buying and selling has become this massively complicated business (vs paper tickets and you sell them to your mates/mates friends, though often for half the price).

Viaggogo is awful, they sell for a ridiculous amount.

The way it works on Twickets is that they hold onto the money until after the gig, so if you don't supply the tickets you don't get paid- one of the reasons for using the site is that you don't have to rely on anyone's word or (easily faked) screenshots of emails.

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions- I'll look at those sites.

It really hasn't, it takes a few minutes to list a ticket.
I've recouped loads of money for tickets I can't use, and saved a fortune snapping up last minute cheap ones.

Hoolihan · 13/07/2023 16:46

If you bought them via Ticketmaster the resale facility is excellent and couldn't be easier. You have no contact with the buyer, it's all done automatically.

If not I think just try Twickets again, sounds like you were just unlucky with the buyer. I would never buy or sell on Viagogo.

Thank you. It was Gigs & Tours unfortunately which just links to Twickets for resale.

Maybe they are concerned you will pull out and they then miss out completely if they then don't try the pre registered sale.

I have a spare ticket and put it on my Fb. I have made it clear I cannot transfer until nearer the time so effectively they have 'reserved' it from me.

But she’s asking for confirmation!!

what if you at the very last minute reveal you don’t have the tickets or wrong date or worse seats than you’d posted

all she is asking for is a bone. I can’t understand why you wouldn’t throw her one.

Kimchikitchen · 13/07/2023 16:52

But I’m guessing you don’t even have the tickets yet!

I bought yesterday for June 2024 (TS) and all I got was a confirmation email but NOT the tickets

Kimchikitchen · 13/07/2023 16:54

She obviously really wants to go and doesn’t want to risk waiting a year and then you saying you don’t have the tickets or not in accordance with the listing in terms of seats eyc

No, she has asked for her money back, which she now has. Not sure why you are being so aggressive on this thread but you've managed to get the wrong end of the stick 3 times.

OP posts:
Kimchikitchen · 13/07/2023 17:26

She asked for tickets
You do not have them

My point was you could have gone back and said - would my email confirmation of purchase so the trick, because tickets won’t be issued until closer to the time.

If she says no - you 🤷‍♀️ and know you’re dealing with not the sharpest tool in the box

if she says yes - all good

I understand what you mean.
I bought one of my tickets, (Harry Styles), that wouldn't be available until near the time, but I had the confirmation.
Some of my tickets that aren't resales aren't available yet.
I go to a lot of gigs, 17 last year, will be similar this year so I know how it works.

Absolutely nothing

but I would say that you can provide your buyer with the bloomin confirmation email at least to reassure them
