What’s happening with the postal service? No mail

We get one big bundle of mail about once a fortnight ( big city, populated area) and nothing in between. I’m missing hospital appointments and other important stuff.

DH paid 7 quid for next day delivery for something 8 days ago. It’s still stuck in the postal system somewhere. Does anyone know what’s going on? We used to have first and second class mail. Now we have whenever mail. I’m so confused.

Ours has actually improved recently - post arrives before 10am pretty much every day
I work from home so get stuff quite frequently
We are in a rural village in the North but not far from the depot in the closest town.
I suspect it will depend on staffing in your local depot, so consistency might vary quite a bit.

If I needed to send something urgently I would use Evri now( something I never thought I'd say
Last used in November to send my DS's birthday presents to a large city and they arrived( in perfect condition the next morning

I don't get much mail apart from Amazon! So haven't really noticed I posted a mug on a Friday to a friend (late present) and it came the next day!!! I did sent it first class (West London to South Harrow!)
