Feeling a bit sensitive meeting new baby 🥲

My step sister had a baby today and I got to meet him! Me and SS are close, she's my best friend. I'm overjoyed.

I was teary holding him. Just thinking how happy I was for them and all the things we've got to look forward to.

However, I can't have kids (nobody knows), and there was a sharp pang of sadness of what I'll never have. I've been crying since I left, both happy and sad, confusing tears.

I'll just need to love him twice as much ❤️ I didn't feel I could share this with anyone IRL. Just wanted to let it out somehow x

Ahh I'm so sorry to hear that.

There's nothing I can say to make you feel better, but what a lucky baby surrounded by so much love.

Congratulations on becoming an aunt Flowers

That’s really sad I’m sorry :( It’s good to let it out and also great that you haven’t let it get in the way of meeting the new baby and getting to know him as that must be hard and a lot of people would avoid that situation so good on you.

Allow yourself the "ugly" thoughts take time to look after your own emotional health. Take care.

Thanks for your replies.

I can't wait to be an auntie to him. I think that's what will get me through. ❤️

Of course this has stirred up emotions in you, it doesn't mean you love any of them any less x

You sound amazing @Weepywept congratulations on becoming an Auntie, he’ll need you as he grows!

MrsTwiggy · 12/07/2023 23:29

I'm sorry, that must be really difficult for you. I agree with a PP that it's ok to just feel whatever you feel and process the feelings as they come.

I must say that you sound like a really lovely and positive person just from these few posts ❤️

What a lovely person you are, that even though you are hurting inside, you are still so happy for your step sister. I can't pretend to know how you feel, but your feelings sound completely normal and justified. This new little one is very lucky to have you in their life.
