Anniversary meal recommendation in Newcastle

So many places to choose from.
We're going in the evening when we drop dd off to the theatre.

Tried The Muddler a couple of years ago, and I've read about Khai Khai, but not convinced.

We're not after fine dining, just somewhere that has a good ambience, not too loud, and has a good variety of vegetarian options.

Cafe Andaluz looks like a good bet. What do Geordie mners think?

Thanks in advance.

Ernest Cafe in Ousburn has nice vegetarian options. A bit quirky bit not right in the centre.

Dabbawal in Jesmond serves lovely Indian street food.
dabbawal.com/ a couple of metro stops from the city centre.

I daydream about the broccoli in Khai Khai honestly it’s all v good there, Ury is as well a couple of doors down lots of veggie South Indian food

Myjobisanightmare · 12/07/2023 17:29

I like dabbawal too it’s just a bit of a victim of it’s own success you’re in and out pretty quickly so they can get the next lot in

We recently went to Sohe in Jesmond and the food was really delicious. Excellent cocktails too. If it takes your fancy I can give some specific recommendations, we tried a few dishes on the menu.

I do like Indian too and have already tried Dabbawal.

I've had a look at Sohe which looks like my kind of thing, thanks. What would you recommend? @Thebigblueballoon

Not heard of Ury, I'll check that too.
