i was talking to my friend about similar errands / jobs and she didn’t agree with the order I do them so curious what other people would do

Same as @IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads expcet that I'd do the food shop after meeting the friend, so I didn't have stuff melting in the car or a rush to put it away.

This is how I'd do it too.

I'd probably do them in the order of the OP except the shower would be replaced by a bath last thing. (Unless I got filthy in the garden in which case an extra quick shower after that).

But it would depend on the weather, that might determine when the gardening was done.

I mean it kind of depends though... I like to shower before I go out socialising but I wouldn't want to leave the house to go food shopping with dirty hair. I would never drink during the day or if I had something to do afterwards and I'd rather meet a friend when I can relax without having to rush off and do something else but surely it depends on the friend's preferences/schedule too?

Food shop (on way back from meeting friend)
Laptop work (motivated by feeling guilty for having had fun!)

Caveat, if alcohol with friend then the 2hrs TV time goes to the start of the day, and meet friend goes after laptop work. And I would assume if we’d met for a drink around teatime I’m not cooking dinner but succumbing to a late takeaway 😂

The last two might be interchangeable if I were feeling responsible and not relying on the deadline dopamine rush.

The order in your op. Maybe shower before work and after gardening depending on how manky I was but if only 1, it would be after gardening as I always feel like I’ve got bugs on me and I need to get them off.

Supermarkets are very busy around lunchtime so would be first or last depending on what time you wake up.
Laptop could be first on the list as long as food shop happened well before lunch.
Shower after gardening because I always get grass and whatnot in my hair
Watch series is last because I'd be thinking about my work if it's not done

Shower first because anything else is frankly disgusting.
Then get the work out of the way.
Then food shop while they still have some fresh stuff on the shelves.
Then meet friend for coffee. But I’d either change it to lunch, or have lunch first.
Then gardening and housework.
Then cook and eat.
Finish off with tv until fall asleep on the sofa.

Sounds like my kind of Saturday, apart from the work. It would have to be very much in my personal interest to do it.
