Toddler changes

Hi all,

Wasn't sure where to post this but I've got a few questions about those next steps for my toddler who is 2 years and 3 months.

Not sure when to start thinking of potty training. He doesn't seem ready to me yet. He says wee and poo but not before he goes. Plus sometimes he'll say poo when he hasn't been.

Also when do we move from the cot. He doesn't climb out and seems perfect fine in there so I feel like I shouldn't change it if it's working but equally want to do the right thing.

It's funny I seem more overwhelmed with a toddler and these changes than I did when he was younger :-(

Boys typically potty train later, follow his cues or you'll all end up stressed.

He's fine in his cot for as long as he fits in it/doesn't climb out. Again you're setting yourself up for a lot of stress if you put a very young child into a bed.

Stay in cot for as long as is safe and possible.
Potty train when ready mine was 2years 9 months and got it straight away.

I'm keeping my son (21 months) in his cot until he starts trying to climb out, the later that happens the better! I'm not in any huge hurry to toilet train either, he says nappy when he's doing a poo but no warning beforehand.

Thank you. I agree with what you've said. Think we're ok for now on both fronts. Just curious to know the average time frames I guess.
