Band 7 CNS interview.

Found out today I've been shortlisted for interview for a band 7 CNS role. I've not been asked to do a presentation so assume it'll all be points based questioning.
Does anyone have any experience in interviewing/successfully interviewed for a similar role and would be willing to share what questions were asked please?

What specialism is it in?

I would assume they'd asked about equality in the workplace and a difficult situation/patient/staff member and how you dealt with it. The STAR approach is good- but there are others. Check what the trust or companies values are.

Have you looked at your wider network, how you can link in with what other hospitals are doing, what you would like to change. How you would performance manage if you have a team, working with the band 8s to implement new ideas.

I would expect you to demonstrate excellent leadership skills, the ability to deal with difficult situations and to have an oversight of the service. Is there an 8a in post or would the 7 be leading a team? Is it a cancer CNS post or a benign condition?

Hi OP, I had an interview for similar this week and there's some excellent YouTube videos with advice.

Also, ask your colleagues.
