Will my flight get cancelled if hardly anyone books it?

Anyone experience of this? Has anyone been on a half empty plane? Obviously getting a big concerned with all the cancellations with EasyJet at the moment. Our flight isn't until October, however it looks like only 6 seats are booked at the moment on the whole flight and they are selling tickets for really cheap.
A quick google search is telling me that airlines don't cancel flights just because they don't sell enough seats. However I can't imagine them doing if it doesn't cover the cost of the flight?

there might be more tickets sold but people havent paid to prebook seats

I don’t think that’s necessarily that unusual for a flight in 3-4 months time. The summer is expensive for lots of people who may wait until September to book after pay day. Often they still need to get planes in place so would fly anyway unless there was a strong reason not to. I’ve flown long haul before when there was barely half capacity (it was great!).

A friend of mine works as cabin crew and she says it's very common for flights to be quite empty.

Flown BA to Norway years ago and there were 4 of us on the plane - full on the way back though.

I wouldn’t be worried at this point - as PPs say flights are often quiet, people might not have booked seats, there are still several months to go.

Is it a flight route with several departures a day?

Been on a 787 with about 15 other people before. A start of the season flight home from somewhere most people go for 2 weeks but I only went for one. Was nice if a bit weird.

Might be wrong but I don’t think they can just cancel a flight for this reason as short haul like easyJet can fly to multiple counties per day so it would ruin the schedule
