Tarot query

I have found a pack of playing cards my ex husband (ex since 95) left.

I remembered him always saying it wasn't a complete deck and there was a marked card in it he used for a trick.
I moved house recently and they surfaced again so decided to look a bit more closely and it strikes me this trick might actually be a curse of some sort. There were other strange items he kept in his desk along with these cards filed under 'misc'

Anyway, the marked card is the king of spades and the missing card is the 4 of clubs.
Someone told me this is bad news, but I'm a confirmed atheist so I have no fear of sky fairies of any description and I'd rather like to know what this means.

Sorry it's 4 of spades, both cards from the spades suit

What?

It's a deck of cards. Just throw them away 🙄

If it's evidence of ill intent, I'm keeping it!

There are no such things as tarot or curses, regardless of what mumbo jumbo your ex believes (or tried to pretend he believed to make you feel uncomfortable, I suspect.) Just bundle up all the miscellaneous shite he left behind, bin it, and enjoy your life.

Nice idea, thanks for your contribution.

Anyone with tarot knowledge know what this means?

Well, it's not tarot is it. They have different suits entirely.

OzziePopPop · 12/07/2023 00:46

Tarot cards and playing cards are totally different things. Totally. This sounds like a simple trick deck of playing cards, nothing nefarious? Also, nothing to do with tarot!

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 12/07/2023 00:52

If you think the cards are cursed, I’d send them to him 😂
On another note, tarot cards are not like regular playing cards. They have pictures on them and not like playing cards with suits.

An ex once told me he would put a curse on me. Load of hogwash. Though it did cross my mind over the years during any challenging phases!

If anybody wishes to dabble with cards I do occasionally use Angel cards by Doreen Virtue with good results. I have yet to find them helpful when shuffling them for other people though.

I really do not believe in curses or spells of any kind.

I found this though https://www.mindbodygreen.com/articles/cartomancy you can look up what the cards that are missing mean.

Thanks for this, I'm not very familiar with the occult, being an atheist myself.

Thanks too to the posters trying to reassure or encourage me to dismiss this, but I am very curious and if I have a clue here as to the INTENTION behind this nonsense then it will be enlightening.
Again, none of this frightens me in an esoteric sense, but if it brings insight into events and behaviours that I don't yet understand, then it's worth giving some attention to these mad artefacts that appeared in my house over 30y ago.
