My family is in England on holidays, returning home at the end of the week. We had a change in our travel plans and we're now stuck at a hotel near Heathrow for a few days. We went into Windsor today and it was absolutely beautiful. Does anyone have recommendations for places to visit near Heathrow that are on the Thames and have Windsor vibes?

Kew Gardens is worth a visit, you have to book tickets. I think the river access gate is the Brentford gate. There used to be a ferry.

There are several companies that do river trips for sightseeing, and you use to be able to get a boat to London Zoo.

There's Hampton Court Palace, and Kew Palace.

Henley and Marlow, only a bit up the Thames from Windsor
Cliveden (National Trust), the house is not open as it's a hotel but the gardens and history are there to explore.
Did u cross over to Eton from Windsor?
