Shamelessly posting on Chat (rather than "work" for traffic) but wondered if any MNer had bright ideas on what I could do to reinvent myself a bit to generate additional sources of income/or even fully branch out one day!
Skillset/profile -
- Senior university academic -with strong CV
- Social sciences
- Research profile is "people-centred" - closest industry comparisons I guess would be UX, market research type stuff
- No career gaps - but flipside is no knowledge how to do/be anything but an academic!
If I ever to think - creatively - of how to set up a consultancy/offer services of value outside my sector - do you wise MNers have ideas where to start, or perhaps any blog/vlog to access or a podcast to listen to that you've found useful. Relatives in engineering and IT are quite happily working on patents/offering software consults - and I feel ready to experiment a bit but haven't got far!
