What time would you wake DH up?

Summer holidays here for context.

DP had a rubbish night- didn't properly sleep until 5am. Then woke up when DC came in and I then got up with them. Have been up with them since 7. I was thinking 2pm max but is that too early for someone that didn't have any sleep last night?

I think that’s too late! Surely 5 hours is enough for an adult to power through and then just have an early night tonight?

Jez woman, wake him up!!

He has had more than enough sleep

gamerchick · 11/07/2023 12:31

I would do it like 2 hours ago. Hell struggle to sleep tonight if he goes much longer OP.

Caspianberg · 11/07/2023 12:32

I would say that’s loads of time!
My own Ds finally fell asleep at 10pm, woke 4 times, then was up for the day at 5am. Next door fire alarm brought fire brigade out 2-3am.
Dh and I have had virtually no sleep, but still had to get up when Ds woke and work/ look after child. Will have to just power through.

I think max sleep since Ds was born 3+ years ago had been 5hr overnight, so 5am-2pm is like a leisurely lie in retreat

Why do you need to wake him up?
What do you need him for? Have you to go to work?

If not then go out and do something and leave him rest (and then ask for the same in return next week)

Do people really sleep that late? With menopause insomnia and due to some health conditions/meds I'm often awake until 4/5. I wouldn't waste the day sleeping. Will he sleep tonight?

yesandeverything · 11/07/2023 13:19

Woke him up and he was annoyed I let him sleep so longBlush

Why are you in charge of waking him up? Does he not have a phone? He could have set himself an alarm.

toomuchlaundry · 11/07/2023 13:25

Does he let you have such a long lie in?

He should have set an alarm then.

That's not your fault. He should have said or set an alarm. He's not a little kid.

Jongleterre · 11/07/2023 14:09

Before you're update I would not have woken him up unless he has asked me to in the absence of him not having any kind of alarm or sleeping through an alarm.
