Bought a new ipad as my trusty kindle is on it's last legs. Is it possible to transfer e books bought from Amazon to a new tablet ?

Download the Kindle app.

have a look at calibre software - you can transfer but it’s a bit complicated.

Put the kindle app on it, log in, and they'll be there. Simple!

No you don’t need to do anything complicated just login to the kindle app on your iPad (or download if you don’t have it) and they’ll all be there! (make sure you know the account info for the one you used to buy them in the first place)

Sorry - should have made clear that calibre is an ebook library management software which makes it complicated but also means you can read your books on a kobo, Kindle, iPad, E-reader etc

you can be device agnostic rather than having to stick with kindle because that’s where you bought them.

Also means you can read library books on your kindle, and buy non-kindle books and transfer them on/off. And that you have a backup of all the books you’ve bought on every different platform.

If you only buy on kindle and like the reading experience of the kindle app it’s probably not for you. If you want to strip the drm and read on an ancient tablet when you’re by the pool, might be worth a look

@Slaistery is this something I can use on a kindle paper white to be able to read library books

Slaistery · 11/07/2023 12:10

@timegoingtooquickly yes! It’ll convert your library books to kindle readable format. You might want to keep the original copy in epub or whatever as well as it’s harder to convert the other way.

You can read them anywhere, you don’t need to have a Kindle to have the Kindle app
