Midwives or GP?

Hi all,

Wondering if you can give me a bit of advice (currently 25 weeks pregnant)? (Sorry long winded)

So for the past I'd say 4 to 5 weeks I have itching really bad down below, no unusual discharge or odour. I tried canesten over the counter which didn't work. Spoke to GP who done a swab and gave me a canesten pessary. Worked for 1 day, well when I say worked for one day I didn't itch on day 2 of the pessary, but the itching came back and swab was negative for thrush.

Spoke with GP again who said when pregnant it can be hard to pick up and treat so we will try the pessary again along with the cream this time and do another swab. Sure enough day 2 with the pessary is the only day I didn't itch but the itching is back again and swab came back negative again.

Only difference is now along with the itching I have a yellow discharge but no odour...my question is would I be better to contact the midwives or go back to my GP?

Anybody else been through similar?

Thanks in advance for any responses

Keep on it with your GP. Hope it gets better soon!

Never thought about it like that, it was just stuck in my head olwens they told me at my booking scan if I had any issues down there to let them know and they would do swabs

So had an appointment with GP today, she has done a few swabs, testing for thrush and BV also Chlamydia and gonorrhea (which there is no chance of) but she said needs done as next step after swabs with no answers is the gyne who would ask why hasn't it been done...she also gave me e45 anti itch cream so here's hoping that works 🤞🤞
