Cutting down on drinking alcohol

We're visiting my parents and it's ridiculous with the amount of alcohol we drink each night.
Which made me reflect on my own alcohol consumption and how I'd like to cut down.
It doesn't seem as simple as "switch wine for a non alcoholic drink" as the routine and triggers remain the same.
Yet when I was pregnant I didn't touch a drop as there was a clear and obvious incentive.

So how do I break the routine?
What have you done?

For context and not to drip feed we may drink about 2 glasses (each) of wine maximum a night when not with my parents.
Which in a week of course is a lot, but we never binge drink or need to get drunk:

I often have breaks, currently on an indefinite break and I love it but somethings need a conscious decision

I would suggest be intentional. Decide what you want to do, moderate? Abstain? How long for etc. be specific.

If there are certain times you would initially miss that drink do something different at that time for a short period

Get the try dry app - very visual and simple! I really like it

No offence but you just do it. There's a stage where you need medical intervention, but you don't seem there yet. So stop. It''s one step, for one day. A day is a short time, fill it with shite telly, or MN, or articles from the newspaper or wordle or crosswords or anything. But you can do it and you will do it. You want to do it xx
