I got some bad news today, nothing earth shattering and I'll get over it but I'm pretty heartbroken

I struggle with my mental health at the best of times and can't be alone with my thoughts at the moment so please distract me

Interesting articles, YouTube links (I like true crime and history) basically anything at all. I'd be very grateful for any suggestions please

Tell me about your interests/hobbies, I'd love to think about something other than the mess that is currently my life

Thanks

sorry to hear you’ve had bad news.
I like the history documentaries on the iplayer and there are a few true crime ones. I can watch and play a mindless game on my phone simultaneously so it works really well.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0074mbg this is one of my favourites. He’s not knocking chimneys down but it’s interesting. The chimney ones are great though

and then there’s steam trains. Quite like programs about those. There’s a really old documentary on iplayer where they recreated the rainhill trials to find the steam engine that was going to be used on the first passenger railway.
Im not a complete anorak with trains more an interested party.

The burrowing Duke - The 5th Duke of Portland. He built an underground ballroom in the 1800s that could take 2,000 guests and that was only one of his eccentric underground rooms linked through a network or tunnels. Jaw dropping.

James May's Toy Stories, and also his The Reassembler.

Not quite what you've asked for, but absorbing, engaging and -especially The Reassembler - very soothing.

Late to the thread (sorry) but I love watching beach combing and mudlarking videos on YouTube

The Northern Mudlarks are a good place to start 🌼
