Bamboo sheets - are they really that good?

I want to invest in some better-quality sheets; I have had Egyptian cotton high thread count before, which also varied in quality. I like the look of the bamboo toppers and would love to get the sheets too, but at £60 for a sheet I'm struggling to justify that! Reviews are very good but are they really worth it? Tell me your experiences please!

Honestly we haven't been impressed. Can't remember the brand name but it was one of the 'good ones' and cost a fair bit (got fitted sheet pillow cases and duvet cover).

Pros
Does feel lovely and cool/silky

Cons
They say it will shrink a bit in the wash so the set we had looked loose when on as too big for duvet and pillows. It hasn't shrunk at all even when we risked a 50 degree wash because we wanted it a bit bloody smaller.

We went for a plain dark navy set with lighter blue sheet. Both colours seem to show every tiny mark and aren't wearing very well over time.

It feels much flimsier than our good quality Egyptian cotton sets

I'm perimenopausal and permanently hot but it doesn't feel any cooler than other sets (though as mentioned above it does feel nice)

@Serenity45 thank you that's interesting; most of the reviews you read are only about the new product, it's good to get a sense of how they're actually lasting! I might just stick to my VG cotton...

Want to buy bamboo bed sheets but have found that bamboo viscose is cheaper but are they the same quality?
