I belong to an art group and at the end of each year the people who run it entertain the group at their home. However, this year I have been unable to go to the last 4 weekly meet ups because of ill health. One of the group contacted me to say that they had all received an invite again this year, but I have received nothing. Am I being unreasonable to expect one or should I just bite my tongue and return to the art group in the autumn term as if nothing has happened. I would not be able to go because my illness will take several weeks to get over.

You could send a card saying how much you have missed attending the group due to being unwell, wishing them a lovely time at the end of term and that you are looking forward to being back with the group in the autumn.
This covers all the issues while remaining friendly and positive.
A simple handmade card perhaps?

Did they know you haven't attended due to your health? Maybe they thought you'd dropped out?

What a brilliant idea. Thanks
