Barclays account has been emptied

Hundreds of pounds spent today on Trainline. Not my purchases. On hold waiting to talk to Barclays. I still have the physical card so how do I prove it’s not my purchase. Will I be refunded?

I had nearly £1k spent on building supply purchases while I was at a music festival.

I'm with Halifax and they said they could see a payment at the festival and just credited my account with the amount taken immediately and did their enquiries. They said they'd get back in touch about claiming the money back if they found they weren't fraudulent transactions. I never heard anything, so they must have known they weren't mine.

That’s good. But I guess with Trainline tickets they could be bought from anywhere? I’m assuming you needed a new card? Off to Italy next week so a bit stressed if my new card doesn’t come.

Barclays have always been pretty fast at dealing with anything suspicious on my account. Call their fraud team.

I second the PP, Barclays have always dealt with fraud really quickly and efficiently.

If your new Barclays card isn't likely to arrive in time, you can get a Post Office Travel Money Card in branch at some post offices.

Then you can download the PO card app to your phone, activate the card and link a bank account to it in order to transfer money to your PO card without needing a new Barclays card (provided your account is not frozen).

Not sure whether the PO card id as good as the much praised Revolut or Monzo, but at least you can get it there and then rather than waiting for a card to be posted.

Call the fraud team OP, I've always found Barclays pretty good. You can cancel the card and report if via the app as well.

I had a dodgy website take money out of my account, and Barclays were able to get it back for me. they are a good bank.

I am so stressed. Anyway. Barclays are refunding me the money.

but in my levels of stress I’ve transferred the balance that I owed for the Italian hostel from another barclays account and have transferred 900 euros too much. I can’t stop the payment with Barclays as they won’t stop pending payments. I can only raise a dispute once it’s completed. I’ve emailed the hostel begging them to return 900 euros but I can’t see that happening to be honest. I’m beyond stressed

I work for a bank in a call centre and you need to contact your bank asap!
Usually if it's card payments there a good chance you will get your money back. When it's Transfered there's not really much chance then
