Do you live somewhere with lots of amenities in walking distance - please help me find somewhere to buy a house for my folks...

My parents (late 70s) prob need to move downsize and move house.
They are very fussy and bloody minded incredibly discerning about their current location in West Milton Keynes just north of Bletchley where they have a detached house
their own drive making it easy to park
walking distance to
supermarket
doctor
post office
barber
and the whole amenities of Milton Keynes - partic proximity to train station to get to London.
They want all of these things plus a south facing garden (!)


They prefer a newer build property that is going to be very well insulated.
Budget approx 500k
Geographically they don't want to be any further East or North of Milton Keynes
Family are in Bicester and Swindon - so those sort of directions...
Would love to hear anywhere where I might guide them towards this

Well presumably they're in a family size property that is larger than they need, costs too much to heat, maybe they can't manage the garden or stairs now they're older?

OP have you/they put their requirements into rightmove? What is wrong with the properties available? Too small, wrong area, more than you/they want to pay? If it is a budget issue, is there any scope to increase it, ie is the £500k the limit of affordability or could they pay more if they want to? I'm imaging that a detached house in a nice area of MK, that they likely own outright, is worth a fair amount.

Are there any new builds coming up that might suit - maybe look to see what is being built in the area, maybe they can have an input into the property so it suits their needs.

Newbury. Lovely town, affordable mix of property, walk to doctors, town, supermarkets, train to London. Accessible for Swindon etc.
