DS and I are flying into Seville, we had planned on spending a few of days in Seville and then getting the bus to Ronda on the Saturday and spending a few days there before heading off to Granada (we fly from there). I've just checked and it doesn't look like there are any direct buses (or trains) on the Saturday so we'll now leave Seville on the Friday instead and we can either do an extra night in Ronda or stop somewhere in between Seville and Ronda and spend a day and night there before heading to Ronda the next day.

It would need to accessible via bus (or train) and then be able to easily get to Ronda. Does anyone have any ideas at all? DS does drive but he's literally just passed his test so not keen on driving (and I don't drive anymore).

Thank you

Could you do Seville to Cordoba and then Cordoba to Ronda?

DreamItDoIt · 10/07/2023 09:46

Can you clarify this. It all depends on arrival times and days. You need at least a couple of days in Seville. Have you done an itinerary so you plot arrival times, bus times, number of nights so you can jiggle it around?

Gibraltar? There are trains to/from San Roque and a short taxi to Gib. I used to live there and loved it so I'm bias.

To/from San Roque to Ronda. Buses available to La Linea bus station from Seville which is a 5 minute walk from Gib border.

What are your dates? The avanza l525 runs on Saturdays Direct from Seville to Ronda so I’m confused as to why it’s not running on your dates.

gogomoto · 10/07/2023 10:05

There's a direct bus. Just checked, definitely runs on Saturdays

Train Line are very helpful if you give them a ring they will help you. We recently booked trains in Seville and Granada. We did find that there was some work being done on some of railways routes which meant people where being bused part of the routes.

Have you looked on Alsa.es?

Cordoba is worth visiting, so could work even though it's a bit out of the way?

Have you booked anything yet except the in and out flights? (Very jealous that you've been able to fly home from Granada, there's never been any flights when I've looked, we've always had to go in and out of Malaga).

Anyway, places in Andalucia worth visiting, as well as Ronda, Granada and Seville, would be Antequera, Mijas, Estepona if you want a day by the sea, even Jerez or Cadiz, if the buses or trains work (I've always found it difficult to plan multi centre holidays in Spain, the information online always seems to be incomplete).

There's also El Caminito del Rey, but I don't know if getting there on public transport is doable. You might be able to get there on a tour from Ronda, which would work with going to Ronda a day early, but it would also be a shame to cut short your time in Seville.

When are you going? Do the dates coincide with any national holidays or strike days? There is usually a direct bus on Saturdays.

If you are going soon, it'll be HOT. It's averaging 39 degrees here at the moment.

There's a train but I think you'll be arriving too late. Check on Trainline though.
You could try BlaBlaCar app? Paying to have a car ride with someone doing that journey.

ladyonthebalcony · 04/08/2023 05:05

You can get a train directly from Malaga but which only takes an hour or so but if you’re getting in late maybe stay overnight in Malaga and then get an early train to Cordoba?

Thank you
I am very nervous right now, I never thought this through, I want to go straight to cordoba but seems difficult now 😫

Scramblelina · 04/08/2023 14:46

You can also get a bus to Cordoba but you’d probably have to stay overnight in Malaga.

Malaga city is great though so find a cheap central hotel and book your bus/train for late afternoon and explore a bit!
