Why has my weight loss ground to a halt?

I have almost 3 stone to lose in total so I'm quite overweight. I started healthy eating in the first week of June and I've lost a total of 15 lbs so far.

But the last week I've not lost a single lb! Just wondered what I could do to get this moving again and if anyone had any suggestions for me

I walk every day - between 8 and 10 km. I swim three or four times a week. A typical day of eating would be ....

A smoothie made with oat milk, scoop of protein powder, spinach, hemp, banana and ice

Wholemeal pitta with hummus / tofu/ salad or 1/2 pouch of grains with feta and roasted veg

Dinner is something like rocket, walnut, goats cheese and pomegranate salad with a tahini dressing

Snacks are 2 tablespoons nuts or a 20g piece of cheese with a piece of fruit or a rice cake with cashew nut butter - I just have one snack a day as a rule

I only eat cheese once a day and I don't eat pasta or bread (apart from sourdough sometimes) and the above day chops and changes bit is always vegetarian

I drink up to 2 litres of water a day

Just wondered if anyone had any tips for me? 15 lbs is just not enough considering I've another 25 lbs to go!

That's a big weight loss. I don't think you should change anything.

Some weeks are just like that. If you weigh in weekly it’s just a snapshot on a wobbly line, you caught yourself at the wrong moment. Have faith, give it another week.

You need to zoom out a bit rather than the detail of one particular week. If your weight is generally heading down, that's the right direction.

It happens. I often found I lost no weight in hot weather, even though I'd been eating less and drinking loads of water. Maybe water retention? But the following week, I'd be three pounds down.

You could start prepping a portion and then weighing it. They can creep up by 50% without you really noticing once you start doing them by eye.

Thanks all. I suspect patience is key although I am not a particularly patient person!

I don't calorie count as for me, that way madness lies and I try to eat to hunger but I think I will pay a little closer attention to portion sizes - although again, I eat to appetite but sensibly - because I could go mad with nuts or cheese, I always portion them out!

I'll just keep slogging on and hoping for a drop soon

Can you start jogging?

As good as walking is for us, I'm not sure it does much for weight loss...well not as much as jogging does anyway.

I think I'd rather stay 20 odd pounds overweight than jog GrinGrin

I'm working up to weights to build some strength up
