Deleting/unsending a sent email question

I need to reply to an email I got on Thursday, but upon opening Outlook, it seem to have disappeared.

Checked in other folders, checked whether I've accidentally deleted it in the Deleted folder, and nothing.

The only thing I can think of is if the sender has unsent it for some reason. Is it possible for someone in the recipient list to delete it for everyone or just the sender?

I will ask the sender tomorrow whether they've unsent it, but there is someone on the list who recently had to unsend an email because she had replied to everyone, so I was wondering whether it's the same person.

I don't know. Have you checked it isn't in Spam/Junk because sometimes mine appear briefly in my inbox before sliding off to the Junk mail bin.

I know you can recall an email, but someone did that to me a few weeks ago at work (managed to cc 500 of us into it rather than bcc oops) and the email remained, but I then got an email saying "the sender would like to recall the email..." Which is a fat lot of good, because I suspect most people when they get such an email would promptly wonder why and go to see even if they'd have ignored the email in the first place.

Thanks for replying.

I have checked in the Junk folder too, and nothing there other than stuff I've unsubscribed from.

'Tis odd.

Was it actually a meeting request rather than a plain email? Sometimes when that's happened to me it's because I forgot I'd accepted it, so it's now in my calendar not my inbox.

You can recall a email if the person hasn't opened it

This happened to me this week too. I received an email then it just disappeared completely. Luckily, I sort of remembered what it was titled so did a search on that and it appeared in the search results. (But for the life of me I couldn't actually locate it ANYWHERE - was able to move it into the Inbox though).
