Would they still be covered under your insurance you have through the bank or not ?

No. Family members are only covered when travelling with you.

Hadalifeonce · 09/07/2023 16:14

Ours are, if they are over 16. You really should ask your insurance provider.

Yep just found it finally.
Not covered, thanks !

Hmm, also looks like we can't insure dsd because she is under 18. So how does it work when a child goes on holiday with another family then ?

You absolutely can. Your current provider may not do it but plenty do.

And if they are going abroad, make sure you do a signed letter of permission.

ABugWife · 09/07/2023 16:44

Can you buy a separate policy for dsd. A single trip policy.

insuranceone · 09/07/2023 16:47

Yeah that's what dh just tried but it wouldn't let him ! And we didn't okay the holiday dsds mom did but we've found out there is no insurance sorted for her

Can she not be added to the policy of the family with whom she going on holiday?

cariadlet · 09/07/2023 17:06

We took one if dd's friends on holiday a couple of times.
Her parents took out separate single trip insurance for her.

insuranceone · 09/07/2023 17:32

We've got one sorted. Thank you. When we asked dsd she said she didn't know if the family had got insurance out or not
