ABBA Voyage

Has anyone been? Friends of mine want to go in December but while it's mere pennies to them, it's a (considerable) big expense in comparison for me. Travel / hotel / tickets / spending money and they want to dress up too.

I like ABBA but wouldn't say I'm their biggest fan, it would be for a fun experience as opposed to my friends who have visited the ABBA hotel/museum this year already.

Any views gratefully received, I don't want to seem like a party pooper so would rather say no straight off than pull out later.

There's a considerable number going so I wouldn't be missed if I choose not to go.

Many thanks.

Different prices depending on where you are. Standing / seating / private dance booth but all >75

Bloody hell. My husband bought our tickets as a present and I had no idea until now how much they were- I assumed it was about £50 each max but I’ve just looked at the website and the seats we had are £130 each 😱.

It is very clever, but I didn’t love it.

Sound quality was dire (at least on the day we went, although some reviews say the same), which seems daft for a fixed venue and recorded music. The band were great.

Didn’t like the cartoon bits, and there was too much of it.

Agree with a previous poster who said it just all feels weird, clapping people who aren’t there.

I went last Saturday and absolutely loved it!
had dance floor tickets and from reading previous posts on here I tried to stay middle but as it got busier got pushed more towards the front which I think actually worked better as I couldn’t see any big screens all I saw was ABBA in the actual near flesh on the stage, was amazing!
despite dance floor being busy there was no jostling and it was a really nice atmosphere. Sound quality was spot on too.

the absolute best for me though was Snoozebox before and after party, frigging loved that place, it was totally jumping! For anyone still to go to ABBA Voyage, you must allow time for a drink or two in snoozebox bar, I absolutely danced my socks off in there.

we stayed in the travelodge Stratford and it was perfect, easy 15 min walk.

Well, to me, travelling to east london to basically do a bit of dancing to 4 holograms and a disco ball is a complete waste of time aand money.
As Jack Nicholson once said, "I'd rather stick pins in my eyes"
But, it is popular both for those who enjoy the irony and those who really do like a 70s pop band so much they'll pay money to watch an electronic reprresentation of them.

Icebreakhell · 16/03/2025 07:28

It was like a very expensive cinema without a seat!

The ‘dance floor’ was packed and not sloped. So woe betide you if you’re behind a bunch of tall people. The avatars were miles away so you’re just looking at them on a screen.

People seated looked much more comfortable.

I found it very underwhelming.

Since money is a challenge and you’re not a big fan of Abba I’d opt out.

Recently went to see this show and loved it! Does anyone know where we can rewatch the 2 animations of Eagle and Voulez-vous please? I was quite intrigued by them.

I would prefer to see a musical at a theatre myself .I love Abba's music but the group are not there .I would not want to spend a good amount of money watching this show.

TitaniasAss · 31/08/2025 21:43

I really enjoyed it but I wouldn't pay megabucks to see it. It's 45 mins on the train for me so not a great expense.

I would usually agree, but I managed to get £40 tickets so thought it was worth a look 😉
